Lesson 2: The Body/Mind/Soul connection

Being healthy is not an utopia that we can all strive for but never reach. It is our natural state of being! Diseases appear in someone's "energy field" (also known as the aura) years before it shows up in its physical form as a symptom.

Fundamentally, the body wants to heal. In fact, it's screaming for healing, hence the excruciating pain.
The problem is that you might not be able to understand that it's trying to say.

Although I won't be discussing the philosophical foundation of the body-mind-soul connection, I will describe how they are connected in order to explain the Intuitive Healing process.

Our soul is always looking for growth. This call for growth is the source of life and makes us feel profoundly happy.
The soul's energy then permeates through our mind, both consciously and unconsciously.
In turn, the mind expresses its energy through our physical body.

Have you ever heard of the "telephone game"? Children sit in a circle and whisper something in the ear of their neighhoor who then whispers it to the ear of their neighbor until it come back around. It's always hilarious to hear what the "message" has become after being either misheard or misinterpreted by this all these kids!

The same process happens all the time though the soul-mind-body connection: the message gets distorted.

For example, the soul calls for freedom as a source of growth. But when it comes into the mind, it is blocked by the rational mind who might say: "I hate my job but I am stuck here. There is no freedom for me." The mind buckles and tries to resist this call for freedom, deeming it impossible.

When the mind resists the soul call for growth, the flow of energy throughout the body is perturbed. It gets stuck and stagnates. It is this conflict induced stagnation between the soul and the mind that leads to seemingly incurable physical ailments. They are only incurable because the source of the conflict has not been identified and addressed yet.

The soul-mind-body connection is also a two way process. As the mind resolves the conflict and expresses the soul's need for growth, energy flows through the physical body which allows it to heal itself. As the body heals, the mind experiences a sense of well being which goes back to the soul as pure positive energy!

The Intuitive Practice: Calling a Truce

Each lessons in this program comes with an Intuitive Practice that is meant to help you apply the concepts we're discussing. We learn most profoundly when we experience things for ourselves. Each Intuitive Practice is designed to give you a personal experience of the various aspects of Intuitive Healing.

Distorted and misunderstood soul message can lead to a full blown war between the mind and the body.
As the mind resists the soul's calling, it creates stuck, stagnant energy in the physical body which leads to illness. Not realizing that the problem comes from within, the mind even becomes angry at the body for being sick. The body is also angry at the mind for choking its vital energy and hindering its natural ability to heal.

But if we are going to embark on this Intuitive Healing process and make some real progress, we need to have a clean start.

We'll use visualizations in some of our exercises. Visualizations are used by professional athletes to create a reflex within their physical body for a perfect execution when it's time to compete for real. It's like rehearsing in your mind. By holding a mental image of the result they want to achieve, they are triggering physical reflexes within their body to accomplish their goal.

Visualizations on what you want to achieve about your body will trigger reflexes within your own mind to actually get the job done, even if you have no idea how it's getting done. Just like walking: we don't think of all the muscle contractions needed when we get up. We just have a reflex that takes care of the execution.

Visualization is a two way process: You send requests to your mind (through mental images) and your intuition sends you feedback (through emotions). So if you try to visualize something but you find it hard, this is direct feedback from your intuition telling you that something is not working right. Do not force it and check out the Quick Tips!

  1. Close your eyes and imagine that you are in a your favorite place...Maybe in a meadow, by the sea or sitting on a park bench.
  2. Imagine that someone is slowly walking towards you. S/he looks exactly like you because it's the part of you that represents your own physical body.
  3. Take a moment to welcome that part of you in this lovely setting. See her/him sitting or walking along with you.
  4. Even though you have both been hurt in the past, and have hurt the other as well, imagine that you are offering your hand in peace. S/he is also extending a hand and you agree to have a truce
  5. Take a moment to be aware of how that feels, to be at peace with your body, even if just during this program (for now!)
  6. Take a deep breath to reset your mind
  7. For the next 24 hours, redo this exercise whenever you feel very angry or frustrated with your body, for example when you experience physical pain or distressing symptoms. Keep in mind that this war has been going on for a while and it will take a few days for the truce to profoundly sink in.

Quick Tips
  • If you find that the person walking towards you looks different than you, that's fine. It might be distorted, beaten up, or visibly upset at you. This is direct feedback from your mind about how you truly feel about your own body. Just be aware of what this looks like.
  • If it does not feel good to shake hands or your body self is not wanting to do it, take a moment to ask:"What do you need me to do so we can have a truce?" Maybe you need your body self to apologize for making things so hard for you. Maybe your body self is too angry with you and it needs to calm down. Go with whatever pops into your mind. It IS relevant, even if it might not seem like it right now!
  • If you can't see this happening in your mind, do not force it. Leave this exercise alone for now and try it again later today or tomorrow. You might get some great insight as to what is truly going in the next few hours!

Checkpoint

In order to keep this program comfortable, I recommend that you wait 24 hours before moving on to the next topic.

It's easy to get overwhelmed without realizing it. We all need time to digest and integrate!
So take a moment right now to evaluate how you are feeling before moving on to another topic!
