What is Intuition? A Psychological and Physiological Definition The sixth sense. The inner voice. The gut feeling. The woman instinct. But how do you listen to your inner voice or your gut feeling?? What if you don't hear anything... What if it gives you ambiguous information... What if it's flat out wrong... Through my work as an Intuitive Counselor, I have developed a definition of Intuition which is immediately applicable in your life.
Intuition is a right brain process
that manages subconscious or abstract information.
It uses emotions to communicate with the conscious left brain. Part 1: How Does It Work? Our brains have two hemispheres:
When you think about a problem, your left brain offers all the factual information related to this topic. That's where most people stop and make their decision. But your right brain is also offering relevant information! By reaching in your subconscious mind, it can come up with CONCRETE ANSWERS based on a much wider pool of information than just the rational facts. That's what people like Trump and Oprah call their "instincts". By learning to use your Intuition, you are harnessing the FULL POTENTIAL OF YOUR MIND. Part 2: How Do I Use It? You actually know a lot more than you think! Maybe you read an article years ago that you don't remember now. Or you overheard people talking at the table next to you in a restaurant, even though you didn't pay attention to them. You are constantly exposed to huge amounts of information that doesn't get processed consciously... It just gets stored in your subconscious mind. Your Intuition is the process in charge of processing this information... But it doesn't use words to do its job, simply because the information it handles is too abstract. Instead, it uses a communication channel that can handle these concepts: Emotions. This is the first line in your Intuition's User Manual:
